Portrait Photography in Philadelphia

Getting in front of the camera can seem scary… but it doesn’t have to be.

It’s an increasingly visual world. You know you need a professional portrait for LinkedIn, better photographs on your website, or content for an active social media channel, but the idea of getting in front of a camera is about as appealing as poking a bee hive. After a lifetime of societal messaging about warped beauty standards, it can be hard to look in the mirror, let alone be photographed! So how do you get the images you need?

That’s where I come in.

As a portrait photographer for over a decade, it’s my mission to create a comfortable experience for my clients. I make it fun and easy to be in front of the camera with plenty of direction, hype-woman vibes, and lots of laughs. But don’t take it from me… just ask my clients!

“Carly was lighthearted and professional. She made me feel super comfortable during our session and captured a beautiful array of shots that gave me a lot to select from post photo shoot. I appreciated her coaching and perspective during our session, was very happy with the results, and would absolutely recommend her services to others!” - Katie M.

I create clean, modern portraits for creative female entrepreneurs in Philadelphia and beyond, from authors to coaches to small business owners. My focus (pun absolutely intended) is personal connection: finding what makes you beautiful and bringing it out during your session so that everyone can see it (including you!)

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESS

  1. Connect: First things first, reach out! Fill out my inquiry form and tell me your story. I’ll respond within 48 hours to set up an initial consultation call so we can get to know each other!

  2. Book: Once you’ve decided I’m the right fit for you, it’s time to let the good times roll! I’ll send over an official invoice. I require a 20% deposit to book your date. Once that’s paid, you’re on my calendar!

  3. Prepare: I’m your photographer, but I’m also your #1 hype woman! We’ll schedule a series of consultation calls to make sure all of your questions are answered, your concerns are assuaged, and you feel extra prepared for your shoot.

  4. Shoot: Your moment to shine! You focus on being present as your best self, I’ll take care of the rest ;)

  5. Deliver: Once our shoot is done, I’ll go through the images to find the very best of the best. I’ll spend hours editing, retouching, and curating your gallery. In around 2 weeks, you’ll receive an email with the link to your gorgeous images. From there, you get to enjoy them however you wish!

A confident, bold woman sits at a table in a photography studio. Her raven black hair and striking eyebrows give her a cool, confident look. She's a typical New Yorker: wearing a simple black top as she pops from an olive green backdrop.
Lifestyle portrait of a laughing woman sitting on a bench outside a coffee shop in New York City. Her knee is pulled up to her chest in a casual, relaxed pose. Pedestrians, traffic, and city life are reflected in the windows of the shop behind her.

Moody, dark portrait of an older Asian woman in a photography studio. She looks to the left of the camera, her arms resting on a small table. She wears an elegant green dress, a gold choker, which pair well with her short gray bob.
