The top 5 spots to post so you get the most out of your professional photos

So you’ve gotten your photos taken, retouched, and presented to you in an online gallery. Fantastic! You’re excited to use these photos, but now that you have them… where should they go?

Get the most out of your professionally taken photos! Here are some places you should consider using your professional headshot:

1. Your Website

Your website is often the first place people will go to learn more about you and your business. Having a professional headshot on your about page or with your bio is one great way to make a good first impression. However, you may want to think about using more than one image. If your business is about making personal connections, or if clients work directly with you, having images of you on your homepage can help to create a sense of familiarity and trust.

2. Social Media

The world of social media has changed quite a bit. It used to be that your Facebook profile photo could be an image of you cropped in from a larger group photo, but no more! These days, the world is much more visual, and if you want to be taken seriously as a business, you have to take your visuals seriously, too. Your headshot should be used as your profile picture on all of your social media accounts, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Consistency across all platforms will help people recognize and remember you.

3. Business Cards

Whether you’re using digital or physical business cards, they remain a powerful networking tool. Including your headshot on your business cards will help people remember who you are, even after they’ve met lots of other people.

I personally use a Dot card, which I love! It’s great to have on hand whenever my work comes up. People then have access to a profile with my website, my contact information AND my headshot. I’ve turned total strangers into clients this way!

4. Email Signature

Make your emails even more memorable! Your headshot will add a touch of personality to your messages. It will also help people associate your name with your face, which can be especially useful when writing back and forth with new clients or even potential clients.

5. Speaker Panels & Presentations

It’s great to have a headshot on hand for professional events. Conference organizers may want it for promotional purposes or the conference website.

It can even be helpful for your presentation. How? Put your headshot on the title slide. You’ll be giving your attendees a great first impression of you as the person they’ll be hearing from. It will also be easier for those attending your talk to find you on social media later (remember what I said earlier about consistency? This is why!)

It’s important to invest in high-quality photography and to choose images that accurately represent who you are and what you stand for. But once you have, it’s just as important to make sure you’re taking those images and putting them in the right places to create a consistent, recognizable personal brand that will help you stand out and make a lasting impression. Hopefully, this post will help you do just that!

As always, thanks for hanging out,
